What is the Reading Buddy Program?
The DSCL Summer Reading Buddy Program pairs young readers who are going into first and second grade with teen library volunteers or library staff for a half hour of reading encouragement and activities. It’s our goal to make reading fun!
This year, the Reading Buddy Program will meet online through Zoom. The Zoom meeting will start with a Staff Member welcoming the group, then break into breakout rooms, so the Little Buddies can read to a Teen Volunteer or Staff Member one-on-one. There will be take home bags with activities and books, and a Reading Log for you to return at the end of the summer for prizes.
The Reading Buddy Program will begin June 7th and end July 26th.
