Reference & Research
Library tools and resources to find more information, listen to something different or do research.
Whether you are researching your heritage, reading a classic, or studying macroeconomics, we can help you with your research.
Visit Our Reference Room
Snuggle up in one of our comfy chairs in the Alec and Charlotte Rhodes Reading Room across from the public restrooms. Not only is that where we keep Magazines, Newspapers and our very popular book sale; but you will find our Reference Library and Folio (oversized) Collection there as well. Beyond the book sale, all of the reference materials are for library use only.
Tex-Share Databases
What you need for your research.
The commercial databases licensed by TexShare offer authoritative, full-text articles from verifiable, subscription-only sources. Every search yields results you won't see anywhere else.
TexShare is surprisingly easy to use and is so much more efficient than sifting through unreliable information you finding using Google. Wikipedia is often a great jumping off point. With TexShare, you can go much further and impress the heck out of your teacher, or learn as deeply into a subject as you care to. Because of very strict licensing agreements, however, only residents of Texas can use it.
Great! How do I use it?
Using your library card number and primary telephone number (only use your area code if you are outside 512) without the dash, log into your user account.
