Spring Chess Club
Tuesday, May 27th, 4:30 - 6:00 PM
Ages: 8 and up
A chess group with coaches Mark and Jan Robinson. Beginner's wanting to learn chess as well as experienced players are invited to meet, play and learn.
Whether you are already a seasoned chess player or just learning the basics, you will fit right in!

Please include 1) the names of all interested players and 2) the name and telephone and email contact information for parents and transportation providers.
Summer Chess Camp will be Monday-Friday, June 16-20, 4:30-6:00pm, for ages: 8-12. A separate online registration will begin May 26th.

Do you have a young reader in your home that might benefit from the
extra attention a high school student could give? The Summer Teen
Reading Buddy program begins June 16, 2014.
Contact SuzAnne Beard or Marie "Miss Marie" Kimbrough for more information. Prompt registration is urged. You can register now by emailing with the name and grade level of your child.

Dripping Springs Community Library’s Summer Reading Buddy Program pairs Teen Volunteers (over 14) with young readers.
Download the Reading Buddy Volunteer Application or pick it up at the Main Desk at the Community Library. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, a parent's signature required.

Story Times on Tuesday and Friday
9:30 am on Tuesdays: Lapsit Babies & Toddlers:
Enjoy a great interactive combination of short books, fun music and movement along with snuggly “Mommy and Me” time.
10:30 am on Fridays: The Preschool set, ages 4 and up:
Great books and stories, interesting activities, songs, and an optional art/craft time. Puppets visit on some Fridays and our visiting therapy dog, Slick Willy, visits on 4th Fridays.

Read to Me gift bags
Read to Me gift bags are available for our patrons who are 6 months old and younger.
Parents may ask for a Read to Me bag when they bring their little one to visit the library.
The gift bags include a book, a Read to Me informational brochure for the parents, a library card application and a small gift.
Materials are available in English and Spanish, so come by and pick one up!
