Volunteering at the Library
Volunteers

Library volunteers play an important role as partners in the Library’s mission of connecting people to the world of ideas and information. You are invited to join our elite corps of dedicated volunteers! By sharing your time and talent with us, you can make a big difference in the quality of library service in your community.
Library volunteers aged 14 to 94 work side by side with staff in every Library activity. You don't need library experience! There is an ongoing need at for help including: sorting and shelving, reading to children in English or Spanish, translating documents into Spanish, mending books, assisting with special projects or events, answering phones, shelf-reading (Adopt-A-Range!), gardening, graphics, and more. Volunteer groups (gardening clubs, etc) are welcome to join |
By Being a Volunteer You Will:
- acquire new skills and gain recognized work experience
- expand your social horizons
- serve your community
- keep up with the latest books
- receive verification of your volunteer work and letters of recommendation for school or resumes.
- brag that you volunteer for one of the most dynamic libraries in the Hill Country!
Take the lead in serving your community by becoming a Teen Action Group member. Volunteer at the library in a variety of ways depending on its needs, and gain valuable experience that helps beef up your school and job applications!
